The Veterans' Silkies 5K Trail Challenge

INIVITATION:   We Welcome active duty, reserve and veterans of all branches, you don’t have to wear silkies for the run, but let’s face it, everything is better in silkies! The purpose of the silkies run is to bring veterans together to bond, build friendships, and hopefully find the support network that veterans often need to fight the invisible war at home. We believe that every Veteran deserves a Battle Buddy!!!        

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              This race will offer an opportunity for all runners to compete in a espirit de corps race recognizing the top 15 female and male athletes to come through the finish line ranging from the very experienced competitors to the novice contestants.

REGISTRATION:  The online entry deadlines are Wednesday, September 21, 2019 at 11:59 pm. 

ENTRY FEE:   $10 per athlete

PARKING: There will be a $5 parking fee for all POVs. Team buses and vans are exempt. Parking spaces available for use are found at lots P3, R, S, and U for all POVs. 

BUS & VAN DROP-OFF: All buses and vans will pull into Warrior Drive and receive guidance from the parking attendant to drop off athletes, coaches, and tents. 

DIRECTIONS TO CORBAN UNIVERSITY FROM INTERSTATE 5:

• From Interstate 5 - Take Exit 252 (Kuebler Boulevard). Turn east and follow signs. Continue on Kuebler Blvd 3/4 mile and turn right on Turner Road. Proceed 1/2 mile southeast and turn left onto Deer Park Drive (directional sign says Corban University). Continue one mile northeast to university main entrance on right.

• Local Traffic From Salem - From Commercial St: Take Kuebler Blvd. east to Turner Road and follow signs.
  From East Salem: Take Lancaster Drive south (name changes to Aumsville Hwy). Continue southeast on Aumsville Hwy. to Deer Park Drive SE, turn right and follow signs to campus entrances.

• 9:00 am to 9:30 am                Girls Elementary 3K
• 9:30 am to 10:00 am              Boys Elementary 3K
• 10:00 am to 10:30 am            Girls Middle School 3K
• 10:30 am to 11:00 am            Boys Middle School 3K

• The Pacific Northwest Cross Country Championships  will be taking place right after the Veterans' Silkies 5K Trail Challenge and all runners must be able to complete the 5K under 1 hour.  This beautiful and scenic course will comprise of rolling grass and dirt hills giving everyone a full trail experience that will give you a wonderful taste of running in the Pacific Northwest.
