The Oak Savanna Restoration Project
Left Coast Cellars has over 100 acres of ecological compensation areas and 70 acres of old growth oak forest. Through time the forest has become populated with invasive species and our goal is to restore the forest to a native oak savanna. We have partnered with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. They will provide the technical expertise for the restoration as well as help us to match any funds we are able to raise ourselves with Federal and State grants. The forest will be a permanent wildlife refuge in the center of our estate and create habitat for native plants, wildlife, birds, and insects as well as improving the watershed.
Left Coast Cellars
Left Coast Cellars is a family owned winery in the Willamette Valley that prides itself on a commitment to the land and preservation for future generations. Left Coast Cellars' winery and vineyards are LIVE Sustainable Viticulture and Salmon Safe Certified. LIVE is a certification of environmentally and socially responsible wine growing in the Pacific Northwest through a rigorous third party certification process of collaborative science-based wine-growing standards. Left Coast Cellars is also committed to renewable energy and received the largest agricultural solar power grant in the state of Oregon. We have 21kW ground-mounted and 62kW roof-mounted solar panel installations. Between these two large solar panel installations, we are able to generate over 80% of the business' electrical needs.
