Saturday, Parker Dam 5k & 10K (PA Wilds 5k & 10K)

    • The 5k will be a pretty easy out and back course along Mud Run Road (paved road). Approx.150 feet of elevation change.
    • The 10k will follow the 5k course then go another 1.55 on the other side of the lake (Fairview Road). It will be a paved/dirt road right through the forest.
    • The courses will be very scenic and sure to please. There are few places in Pennsylvania can compare to the Wilds.

Saturday, West Creek Recreational Trail 5k & 10K 

  • 10k is out and back on the trail. 
  • 5k is out and back on the trail. 
  • There are playgrounds along the trail and it is a beautiful, scenic trail. 

Sunday-Half Marathon & 2 Mile Sprint

  • 1/2 Marathon will be on the West Creek Recreational Trail in Emporium, PA, on the backside of the state gamelands. 
  • This is a beautiful and flat, out and back race on the rail trail. 
  • The 2 Mile Down Hill Sprint is also on the trail and will start in the same spot.
  • However, runners will run to the beginning of the trail where the train car is located and turn around and run back. This is the opposite direction of the half marathon runners.

    • The Rut (mid-September to mid-October, the elk rut is a time when male elk, or bulls, vie for the hearts of their female counterparts.) 


  • Time Limits
    • 1/2 Marathon / 5 hours 
    • 5k / 1 hour
    • 10k / 90 minutes
    • 2 Mile / no limit


  • Aid Stations
    • All aid stations will be unmanned
    • We encourage all runners to bring your own hydration and fuel
    • There will be bottled water at the stations
    • There will be stations approximately every 2 miles for the half marathon (including 2 stations with Gatorade)
    • There will be 1 station for the 5k
    • There will be 2 stations for the 10k
  • Bibs will be mailed ahead of time (about a week before the race).

  • All awards will be mailed after the race
  • Very unique race themed awards. Top 3 male and female to go with top masters male and female (40+)
  • There will also be age group awards for both male and female runners.
  • Special elk themed awards to the top 3 teams with the most participants and top 3 fastest.

Unique medals pertaining to the PA Wilds will be awarded to all participants in the 5k/10k, Half Marathon & 2 Mile. We will also have an additional medal for those running the Rut Challenge and Rut Challenge Jr.  You could earn up to 4 medals!



In the morning, explore the area at Parker Dam State Park and nearby Elk viewing in Benezette. If you are running in the evening, hang out before and after with your family and enjoy music by Bryan Titus sponsored by Rich Valley Wines and the Hygrade Inn, a wine event and fun for the entire family. This is directly across the street from the start/finish in Emporium on the Cameron County Chamber Summer Stage.


Explore the little town of Emporium and enjoy their food and culture after the race!


Part of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Parker Dam State Park.

Four destination races will all be located in the PA Wilds. Races will consist of  the "Great Allegheny" Ohiopyle April 18th, 19th (RESCHEDULED); Conquer the Canyon July 25th & 26th; Run for the Elk August 8th, 9th.  Plus a fall event on October 25th and 26th 2020 at Promised Land SP and Bushkill Falls, PA.  Participants that run ALL 4 will receive a SPECIAL Medal at the end of the year.

Benezette is the ”Elk Capital of Pennsylvania” and is located in the heart of the state’s wild elk herd, now numbering almost 1,000 majestic animals.Benezette is in the middle of Parker Dam and Emporium! One of the best spots to start an elk viewing adventure is at the Winslow Hill viewing area. The Mt. Zion Historical Park near Benezette is a beautiful and quiet place with an honor walkway and Civil War, Veterans, and Boy Scout memorials. The nearby Quehanna Wild Area features a spectacular White Birch grove in the Marion Brooks Natural Area.  Plus, the town has some amazing gift shops and stores.
