CARLISLE DOWNTOWN MILE IS NOW VIRTUAL
After careful consideration of the health risks posed by COVID-19 to runners, volunteers, staff, and the greater Carlisle community, we have decided to turn the 2020 edition of the Carlisle Downtown Mile into a virtual race and have renamed it the Carlisle Virtual Downtown Mile. We will hold the Mile Race, Fun Walk, and Team Challenge virtually. You may walk, run (hop, skip, etc.) on our original course, around town, on a track, in the woods, on a treadmill, in the pool, or anywhere else you want to for one mile. You can do that anytime from Aug. 1 through Aug. 9. Then enter your time on RunSignUp. Results will be posted as the race progresses and the fastest time in each race category (age and gender, or team) wins bragging rights. We will use the honor system for reporting times, so be honest. All participants will receive a special, collector’s item, Carlisle Virtual Downtown Mile t-shirt. Post photos online of your run or walk to be entered into daily drawings for raffle prizes and fun awards such as best costume or family picture.
With many in our community having lost their jobs and others seeing significant reductions in hours and/or duties, the services the Employment Skills Center provides are in greater demand than ever before. All of our programs and classes are offered without charge. Those programs range from basic literacy skills; to course work, tutoring, and testing for the high school equivalency diploma; to work force development including nurse aide training, fork lift training, and environmental technician certification. Thank you for your support during this difficult time and ask that you share with family and friends the news that the Carlisle Virtual Downtown Mile will be run this year from Aug. 1 through Aug. 9.

UPLOADING YOUR TIMES
Participants will be able to record their time, track other racers, and challenge themselves. And remember, this is based on the honor system. No need to upload data to Strava or record your mile with a GPS. No one will be looking to DQ you. Once you are registered, you will be able to upload your time using the following steps:
Step 1: Make sure you are logged into RunSignUp (use the email you used to register).
Step 2: Click on the RESULTS then click on the blue box that says SUBMIT VIRTUAL RESULTS. Search for your name.
Step 3: Add your time and save your results. It might take a few minutes to update in the overall results but you can refresh the page and wait. That's it! You are done.
