WHO is the fastest man and woman in the Wyoming Valley? A simple question, but hard to answer, indeed. The Valley's Fastest Man Mile Series answers that question.
The series consists of three events over arguably the greatest test for middle-distance runners: the famed and glorious Mile!
$100 prize money will be awarded to the top male and female series winners (top three overall for each gender will win a plaque). Age group awards for 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Bonus awards for the Breaker Brewing Giants' Despair Mile race: $20 vouchers for Breaker Brewing to the top overall male and female and top master male and master female. $10 BBC voucher to top male and female in each age group.
All entrants who register for the entire series are invited to a FREE awards after-party inside Breaker Brewing Company after the final race. There will be plenty of food and refreshments and there will be a healthy meal option.
The first race in the series, the Meal Prep Grind Mile, on July 25 at 7:00 PM, takes place an outdoor artificial surface all-weather track at at Misericordia University's Mangelsdorf Field at 301 Lake Street in Dallas PA. No hills, very little wind, perfect evening running conditions. No excuses! The race will be run in heats base on expected finishing time. Race-day registration is at the race venue. If you choose to do only this race, the cost is $15. Meal Prep Grind, a locally owned business based in Moosic, PA, has sponsored this race. Parking is available in the campus parking lots.
The second mile of the series takes place on August 8 at 7:00 PM, and will be run within the grounds of the Church Street Park off of Third Ave in Kingston PA. The course consists of an approximately half mile paved path around the perimeter of the park. The runners will make almost 2 complete laps to finish the second leg of the mile series. Race-day registration takes place at the Kingston Recreation Park building off of Third Ave, just down the street from the race venue. The cost of just this race, and not the full series, will be $15.
Parking is available at the Kingston Recreation Park building off of Third Ave and limited parking at the Church Street park itself.
The final in the series is the challenging Breaker Brewing Company Giants Despair Mile, contested on August 22 at 7:00 PM, over the famed Giants Despair Hill Climb course in Laurel Run PA. The cost to enter this race alone is $20
This race is run over a paved road course, closed to traffic, and has 650 grueling feet of elevation climb over the mile distance. The GPS coordinates for the race venue are 41°13'23.3"N 75°51'55.5"W.
Immediately after the race, all series entrants are invited to a FREE awards after-party inside Breaker Brewing Company where there will food and refreshments. There will be a healthy choice food option and each runner will receive one drink chip, with the opportunity to purchase more drinks from the bar as desired. Runners who did not enter the entire series or who would like to bring others, can do so at a cost of $10.00 each. The party tickets can be added to your order at checkout.
Race-day registration is available at the race venue as is parking.

There will be no duplication of awards in this series.
Refunds and Rejection of Entries
There are no refunds of race fees for this series or individual events in the series.
The Susquehanna River Runners Club reserves the right to accept or reject any entry.
