Description
As part of the East Petersburg Day events, the East Pete 5K and Kids Fun Run, Run Like a Rock Star will start the festivities and celebration to our community. Channel your best impersonation of Elton John, Mick Jagger or Lady GaGa and join the fun. Following the run will be the parade and lead families and fans to the East Petersburg Community park for live music, jugglers, food and games.

Packet pick-up, Race Day Registration and more...
Packet pick-up will be Friday from 6 to 8pm and again Saturday morning from 7-8:30am at the EP Community Building (across from the EP FIre Department). After 10am Friday, registration to the events will no longer be an option but will be available during both packet pick-up times.
A water station will be available at mile 1.5 and at the finish line provided by Anytime Fitness with support from the EP Boy Scouts. Bananas and bagels (from Hometown Provisions), and drinks (by Turkey Hill) will be at the finish line. A food truck with breakfast items will be available to purchase. A group of students from Hempfield HS will be hosting a bake/coffee sale to benefit Mini-Thon.
Libby Rannels will be our guest photographer for the day on Saturday. Located at registration will be a table of fun Rock Star props provided by our friends at Rocky Springs Bowling Alley to take fun photos. Look for the instagram frame to take pics and post using our #eastpetehappy.
A special guest will be along the parade, Carly Clark will be performing in front of Gochnauer's Home Appliance along Main Street.
Remember, all race packets come with a free ride ticket to be used at the EP Day Carnival that re-opens after the 5K awards, parade, and invocation. We hope you hang out and enjoy the park or come back later in the afternoon to enjoy a fun day of festivities, food and community spirit.
Parking is available at the park, surrounding streets, EP Mennonite Church and Chancey's. The parade follows the 5K event and may obstruct traffic flow out of the park until 11am. If you need to leave immediately after the event, please be cautious and park in an area that is not along the parade route.
Course Route
Kids Fun Run
The Kids Fun will be at 8:30am, before the 5K. Based on age, the participants will run either one or two laps around the football field. Along the way will be some obstacles to add some excitement. Please head over to the football field by 8:20am for instructions to begin the Fun Run.
