Description
Did you know that 40 kids are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes (T1D) each day in the United States alone? That's like a whole classroom of kids! Can you imagine? In our high school, we average at least one student in every grade diagnosed with diabetes. But that's why our school is hosting a JDRF Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes on November 11, 2017—so that we can help our community and the kids and families that are affected by T1D. We want to make a difference!
Lakeland senior, Leah Loomis, was a major advocate for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund). Having been diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at a young age, Leah was devoted to finding a cure for the disease. Not only will this event be in memorandum of Leah, but it will also donate 100% of the proceeds to JDRF.
Please join us in our cause and fight against diabetes.
