Kick off Halloween with a fun Halloween-themed 5k walk/run. Costumes encouraged.
Start and finish line at Faith Reform UCC with scenic 3.1 miles of road and groomed trail. Walk, run, or creep along the Landingville portion of the Schuylkill River Trail.
START TIMES
Race Format: Open starting line: start anytime between 10:00 am-10:10 am. All racers will be scored off of chip time measured from your individual start time to your finish time. To be considered for age awards, you must cross the finish line before 11:00 am

Preregistration (closes at 11:59 pm on October 20th)
Adults 18 years old and up: $30 (with fees: $32.80)
$35 after October 20th
Children 17 years old and below: $20 (with fees: $22.20)**
Virtual 5k: $30 (with fees $32.80)
*Children under 10 can race with an adult at no fee/registration but will not receive a timing bib, t-shirt, or race time prizes. All are eligible for costume prizes.
** During registration, the price will be reduced at checkout for youth registrations.

What registration gets you
Register by October 1, 2025, to be guaranteed a Spooky Schuylkill 5k race shirt, chip-timed bib, professionally timed results, and refreshments.

T-shirts for the first 200 registrants registered by October 1st or until sold out (sizes after October 1st cannot be guaranteed)
Awards and Prizes
1st place prizes will be awarded to overall top male and female runners and age group division winners. (1st and 2nd Male and Female for 14 years old and under; 15 -19 ; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+)
Awards announced by 11:15 at the finish line pavilion
Several costume categories (adult, duo, children (12 and under; 13 -18), group, dog)
The costume contest will be done through online voting. Interested participants will have a photo taken at the race, uploaded to Connect's social media, and followers will be encouraged to vote on their favorites. Winners will be announced on October 28th, and prize pick-up/delivery will be arranged (just in time for Halloween!).
Results and Timing Information
Race timing is conducted by Bernie's Race Timing with results available at the finish line and emailed to the registered address. Bibs are chipped for accurate times from start to finish!
Weather
The event is rain or shine, so dress appropriately. There is no gear check but parking is close to check in and starting line.
Sorry, race fees are not refundable.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome and encouraged to dress up. Dogs must be comfortable around humans and other dogs and must be leashed at all times.

All proceeds benefit Schuylkill Connects. Connects creates and supports community collaboration in Schuylkill County, PA; serving the people of Schuylkill County since 1998. Our mission is to develop connections between organizations, communities, and resources to help create a better Schuylkill County to live, work, learn, and play.
Connects cultivates partnerships, activates resources, and empowers communities and their residents of Schuylkill County. In 2024-2025 Connects and our community partners have supported parks and walking policies and programs (Schuylkill on the Move, PA WalkWorks); engaged students from all of the County high schools in the Youth Summit; been a voice for Schuylkill County as part of the State Health Improvement Plan and State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan; been a planning member of Schuylkill United Way's HIVE; assisted and advocated for safe and equitable streets for all through community plans, bike rodeos, and walk audits; and educated and advocated for all ages around health and wellness and quality of life improvements throughout the county with LVHN Schuylkill’s Healthy Schuylkill Communities.
