After 28 Years, the Greater Philadelphia Coalition Against Hunger Will Close Its Doors
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of the Coalition Against Hunger on June 28th and the cancelation of the Race Against Hunger. As we process this sudden news, we grieve especially for our clients, our partners, and our own team members. Thank you for your support of our work and our mission.
You can read more about our closure at www.hungercoalition.org. It has been an honor to serve our greater Philadelphia community for 28 years.
Description
Since 1996 the annual Race Against Hunger has elevated the issue of food insecurity in our local communities and raises funds to support our work and infuse the Philadelphia food access network with resources for neighborhood pantries, soup kitchens, and anti-hunger groups to get nutritious food to our neighbors who need it. The 5K is as resilient as our local anti-hunger movement, having briefly become a “Walk Against Hunger” and going completely virtual as the world confronted the COVID-19 pandemic.
Now back in-person at the Navy Yard, we invite participants in all formats! You can run, walk, or complete the 5K virtually. For those who are serious about their metrics, our course is USATF certified. Join us for this fun, safe, family-friendly way for people of all ages to help our neighbors in need!
