20th Annual Roxborough Mother’s Day Walk/Run

For the past 19 years, the Roxborough Mothers Day Walk has raised over $130,000 with a total of over 4,500 who have participated in the annual event. The organizations that received funds raised are Susan G Komen, American Cancer Society, Journey’s Way, Friends in Pink and Lisa’s Army.

The event started by Jacqueline Ashenfelter in 2001, along with 25 members of Kendrick’s exercise group getting together on Mother’s Day morning to spend time together and raise a few dollars for breast cancer patients while doing so. And here we are 19 years later with most of the same people participating and many more along with more than just a few dollars raised for a few different charities. Maureen Pownall, Laura Kuneck and I along with many volunteers from the community enjoy organizing this fabulous successful event each year and are looking forward to making this year’s walk/run the most successful yet.
