Join us on November 17th for the Last Trail Standing, an unforgettable trail running experience at Settlers Cabin Park. This event offers three challenging distances: 50K, 25K, and 8 miles, designed to give runners a true taste of every single trail in the park.

*

Race Details:

*

Date: November 17th
Distances: 50K, 25K, 8 mile, and 5K
Location: Settlers Cabin Park
Course Description: Our race director, Chad, has meticulously crafted a 15.5-mile loop that encompasses every trail and all the best hills in Settlers Cabin Park.

*

All races are a loop. They have slightly different starting points within a short walking distance of Cayuga shelter but they will all finish in the same spot at Cayuga.

5K: Not your typical 3.1 miles. This is a great step up/challenge from the typical road 5K.

8 Mile Racers: Get a hard taste of the 15.5 mile loop infamously called the Last trail Standing.
25K Racers: Complete the Last Trail Standing once.
50K Racers: Tackle the Last Trail Standing twice.
With an elevation gain of approximately 3,300 feet and a descent of around 3,100 feet for the full 50K, this race promises to challenge even the most seasoned trail runners.

*

Special Dedication: This race is dedicated to the memory of Chad's father, Harry J. Shipley, whose birthday falls on the race day. The Harry J. Shipley Memorial Run honors his legacy and Chad’s effort in building this route.

*

"My dad loved old country roads. Every time he drove by a country road he'd ponder where it would go and would often venture down it. I did the same thing in the mapping of this race. Every trail I came to I had to see where it went and eventually connect all of the dots. My Last Trail Standing route will put a notch in every trail at Settlers, thus this route will be the last trail standing and the only way to conquer it, is to join this race." - Chad Shipley

*

Race Timing and Registration: Race timing will be managed by Miles of Smiles. Registration is on the day of the event. However, to ensure you receive one of our infamous and awesome t-shirts, please register by October 17th.

*

Hikers Welcome: Hikers are encouraged to join the 25K and 8-mile distances. This should give you plenty of time to finish the race.

*

Race Cutoff Time: 50K Racers will have 9 hours to finish. 25K Racers will have 6 hours to finish. 8 milers will have 3 hours to finish.

*

Start Times: 50K will start at 7:15am and will have to complete the 15.5 mile loop within 4.5 hours to be allowed to continue on. 25K and 8 milers will start at 8:00am.

*

Aid Stations: There will be two major aid stations on the course, which you will encounter multiple times in the 50K race. The longest distance between aid stations is ~7 miles.

*

Crew and Drop Bags: Crew and drop bag services are available only for 50K racers at the start/finish line, which you'll reach at 15.5 miles.

*

Terrain: These trails are beautiful and well groomed. There are rocks and roots and things to watch out for but for the most part, this is woods trail running at it's finest!

*

Route Secrecy: To maintain the element of surprise, the route will not be revealed before the race. Rest assured, 99% of the run will be within the beautiful woods surrounding Settlers Cabin Park.

*

Prepare yourself for an exhilarating trail running experience like no other! We look forward to seeing you on November 17th.
