For the sake of your safety, enjoyment and the longevity of race we have a number of rules that must be observed by all participants.

The Race Directors reserve the right to:

Deny entry to the event to any competitor at their sole discretion. if you are denied entry you will receive a refund.
Disqualify an entrant for a violation of the rules. If you are disqualified you will not receive any type of refund

RunPA is pleased to bring you a VERY SPECIAL half marathon located in  the heart of Amish Country where the whistle of steam engines echo in the distance as you run the rolling country backroads through some of the best farmland in the area. Most of which are preserved by the work done at the Lancaster Farmland Trust.
Run by the Harrison Ford film favorite "Witness" Farm and through one of the oldest covered bridges in Lancaster County.  The race is an open road race with traffic control at intersections.  Aid stations will be equipped with water and electrolytes as well as nutrition along the Half Marathon Course.    Strollers are permitted on the 5K course ONLY, and must line up behind the runners  NO STROLLERS ALLOWED ON THE HALF MARATHON COURSE.

NO PETS are allowed on the course or near the start or finish lines

The race will start on Miller st outside the park.  Right where Hampden Drive is.  From Miller it’s a right onto S Jackson St 
S Jackson turns into Bunker Hill Road 
Follow Bunker Hill up and over the hill until you come to Weaver RD
Make a left onto Weaver RD
Follow Weaver to Winter Hill RD
Right onto Winter Hill RD
REROUTE IS HERE:  LEFT onto Stively Rd

Right onto Winter Hill

RIght onto Old Rd

Right onto Sandstone Rd

Right onto Bunker Hill Rd

Left onto Dieter Rd

Right on Walnut Run Rd

Right onto Lime Valley then straight onto Twin Elm Rd

Left onto Hager Rd

Right onto Lime Valley and onto Miller Street for the finish in the park

The race is a professionally chipped time race!

Half Marathon starts promptly at 9:00am  The Half Marathon is a timed event with a 3 hour cutoff.  No strollers will be allowed on the half marathon course.  This is an open road event.  That will have traffic control at major intersections. Along the route. The Half Marathon is for participants aged 14 years and up. The half marathon route is not designed for walkers.  If you are interested in walking please sign up for the 5K event. 

5K Run/Walk starts promptly at 9:00am  The 5K Run/Walk is a family friendly, stroller friendly timed event.  The route starts with the Half Marathon Runners and then takes a turn of its own through some scenic farmland and back roads.

7:30am-8:30am - BIB PICKUP

Bib Pick-up will be from 7:30am - 8:30am  REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT 8:30AM so please arrive early and with enough time to pick up.

8:45am - RACE ANNOUNCEMENTS AT THE FRONT OF THE PARK AT THE BARN

9:00am HALF MARATHON START

The Half Marathon will start on Miller Street a short walk from the entrance of the park.  The Half Marathon will finish inside the park.  The Half Marathon is a race and not for walkers or strollers.  There are traffic control measures on the course by the fire/police.  THIS IS AN OPEN ROAD EVENT. There will be a sweeper on a bicycle following the last runner.  There will be aid stations at about every 3 miles.  4 Aid Stations on the Half Marathon.  There is a 3 hour cut off this year.  After 3 hours there will no longer be traffic control on the course.  ALL RUNNERS WILL RUN AGAINST TRAFFIC during the race with the exception of the start.

9:00am 5K-START

The 5K race will start just outside the park and  finish inside the park in the same spot as the Half Marathon.  There is no aid station on this course.

10:00am - MUSIC provided by THE NANCY REAGANS

AGE REQUIREMENTS: 

STRASBURG HALF MARATHON:  ALL race participants to enter the Strasburg Half Marathon must be 14 years of age or older and have parent/guardian consent to run if under the age of 18 along with a signed waiver.

STRASBURG 5K: All Race participants to enter the Strasburg 5K must be 8 years of age or older and have parent/guardian consent to run if under the age of 18 along with a signed waiver.

PET POLICY  The Strasburg Half Marathon has a  “no pets allowed” policy for volunteers, spectators, and participants in the start and finish areas of an event

HEADPHONE POLICY:  The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, The Strasburg Half Marathon & 5K encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of The Strasburg Half Marathon & 5K races.

We believe your race experience and those around you will be greatly enhanced by leaving the headphones at home or in the car. Running headphone-free allows opportunities to develop camaraderie with your fellow runners and to enjoy everything the race has to offer. Plus, volunteers and spectators will be on course cheering you on and providing directions to help get you to the finish line.

Runner safety has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority for our event. Please be mindful of the other participants and respect the race personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone.
