RUN(317) Speedway - The Speedway Lions Club serve our community. It’s that Simple, and it has been since we began in Speedway in 1939. Our club is a place where individuals join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving our community and the world. Our primary fundraiser is parking for Indianapolis Motor Speedway events. We also host an annual pancake breakfast to raise funds. We distribute our funds throughout the community. We support a variety of causes including scholarships for students, parks department programming, community organizations, and school programs.
When you become a Lion, you become part of a global network of volunteers working together to make a difference. There are over 48,000 Lions Clubs around the world. Each is filled with people who have decided to take action and serve others. Lions form unique friendships and meaningful connections that can last a lifetime. At the heart of Lions clubs there is one constant: service. Giving your time and energy to others is a fantastic way to help your community. Yet, it also provides a great feeling for you that can spread and have a positive impact in your life and how you approach the world.
RUN(317) Butler-Tarkington - Since 2001, School on Wheels’ mission has been to provide one-on-one tutoring and educational advocacy for school-aged children experiencing homelessness. We equip these children with the educational tools necessary to achieve success in life and break the cycle of homelessness through two key programs: Tutors in Action and Ignite Learning. Through Tutors in Action we use nearly 400 volunteer tutors, and partner with nine shelter locations and four public schools to provide academic intervention programs to students in grades K – 12 up to four times each week. Ignite Learning is our program dedicated to engaging the parents of these students, helping them become the best advocates for their child’s education. Our programs work together to create a web of support for the homeless children and families in Indianapolis, connecting teachers, schools and service partners to meet the academic needs of those children who need it most.
RUN(317) Carmel Village of WestClay - Kids’ Voice of Indiana is a prevention organization that deters abused and neglected children from experiencing or re-experiencing abuse and/or neglect. Kids’ Voice does this by providing a range of services for children, their families, as well as for other professionals that serve children and families in Indiana. Our programs are built on three pillars: advocacy (Guardian ad Litem for Kids Program), education (Children’s Law Center), and protection (Safe Child Parenting Time Program). Our expertise in family and child law has made us the first line of defense for judges, families, and community members to ensure children have a voice. At Kids’ Voice, we believe in a child’s basic right to be in a safe and stable home, without abuse and neglect. The only way to break the cycle of abuse is to provide children a safe environment to ensure violent behaviors are not passed onto the next generation. We are the only agency of our kind, and our services have never been more important. RUN(317) Fountain Square - Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. is a nonprofit community and environmental improvement organization with a mission to engage diverse communities to create vibrant public places, helping people and nature thrive. Since 1976, KIB has helped its neighbors plant more than 55,000 trees, lead thousands of cleanups, and install dozens of new community greenspaces, being supported by more than one thousand individual donors towards those efforts. KIB accomplishes these goals through community driven, hands-on programs and initiatives. Keep Indianapolis Beautiful is a 501c(3), private, not-for-profit organization, and an award-winning affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc. (KAB), the national organization dedicated to preserving the natural beauty and environment in American communities.
Each year, KIB supports an average of 800 community improvement projects with approximately 14,000 volunteers. For the past three decades, we’ve partnered with neighborhoods, the public sector, and Indianapolis community groups and businesses to achieve our vision for a beautiful city.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. sees a vibrant city, with every neighborhood landscape thriving and well, and its people empowered, mobilized, and devoted toward that vision. The result: a city defined by strong neighborhoods; inspired places; and a clean, flourishing environment.
