1. Lake Region Run Waiver: I acknowledge, understand, and agree that my participation in the 2024 Lake Region Run 10-Mile, 10-Mile Relay, 5k, and/or 1-mile run/walk (hereinafter, collectively, the “Event”) entails known and unanticipated risks that could result in physical, emotional, and/or mental injury, paralysis, death and/or damage to myself. On behalf of myself and on behalf of my heirs, beneficiaries, and representatives, I understand that such risks cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the Event.
2. I acknowledge, understand, and agree that my participation in the Event may involve the risk of serious injury or death which may result not only from my actions, inactions, and/or negligence, but from the actions, inactions, and/or negligence of others. Participating in the Event is a potentially hazardous activity.
3. On behalf of myself and on behalf of my heirs, beneficiaries, and representatives, I expressly agree and accept and assume any and all risks and dangers associated with the Event. My participation in the Event is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate in the Event with full knowledge of the risks and despite the risks. The risks include, but are not limited to: falls, trips, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, traffic, and conditions of any surfaces.
4. On behalf of myself and on behalf of my heirs, beneficiaries, and representatives, I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, agree to indemnify, defend, and hold Lake Region Healthcare Corporation, Lake Region Run, all city, municipality, county, political subdivisions, and state agencies and entities and their respective board members, agents, owners, officers, affiliates, volunteers, participants, employees, directors, sponsors, and all other persons or entities, acting in any capacity on their behalf harmless from and against any and all claims, demands, liabilities, and/or causes of action, which are in any way connected to, or arise out of, my participation in the Event. Nothing in this release/document shall purport to release, limit, or waive any liability for damage, injuries, or death resulting from conduct that constitutes greater than ordinary negligence.
5. I affirm that I am in good physical condition and I should not enter and participate in the Event unless I am medically able and properly trained to complete the course in less than 2.5 hours. I agree to abide by any decision of any Event/race official relative to my ability to safely complete the Event.
6. The Event/race director reserves the right to adjust Event times, cancel the Event, and/or to change the day or time of the Event. I understand, acknowledge, and agree that my entry fee is non-refundable. I understand, acknowledge, and agree that all entries to the Event are final with no refunds.
7. I grant Lake Region Healthcare Corporation and/or Lake Region Run permission and the right to photograph, videotape, record, video, and/or record me and to use my name, face, likeness, voice, and/or appearance in connection with publicity, advertising, and/or promotional materials without reservation or limitation.
