Release, Waiver of Liability & Assumption of Risk

In consideration of the acceptance of my entry into this event, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, hereby waive, release, and forever discharge any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that I may have against the Event Director, RunSignup.com, and the facility host and owners of the Riverwest and Lakewood Nature Preserves

This release applies to all injuries and/or damages suffered by me before, during, or after the event. I understand and agree that this release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns.

I understand that running and/or walking in a race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation in this event, including but not limited to:

falls
contact with other participants
the effects of weather
traffic and
conditions of the course,
and I waive any and all claims that I may have arising out of these and any other risks typically associated with participation in a road or trail race. I acknowledge that all such risks are known and understood by me. I agree to abide by all decisions of race officials regarding my ability to safely complete the event.
I certify, as a material condition of my participation, that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to complete this event, and that my physical condition has been verified by a licensed medical doctor.

In the event of illness, injury, or a medical emergency arising during the event, I hereby authorize the Event Director and event personnel to secure from any accredited hospital, clinic, and/or physician any treatment deemed necessary for my immediate care. I agree that I am solely responsible for payment of any and all medical services and treatment rendered to me, including but not limited to medical transport, medications, treatment, and hospitalization.

I further acknowledge and accept that any family member, spectator, or support crew attending the event on my behalf also waives and forever releases any and all rights and claims for damages or injuries that they may have against the Event Director, RunSignup.com, and all of their agents assisting with the event, sponsors and their representatives, volunteers, and employees.

By submitting this entry, I acknowledge (or, in the case of a minor under 18 years of age, I as the parent or legal guardian acknowledge) that I have read, understood, and agree to the above release and waiver.

Furthermore, I grant permission to the Event Director, RunSignup.com, sponsors, and their agents to use my name, voice, and image in any photographs, motion pictures, video, results, publications, or any other print, videographic, or electronic recording of this event for any lawful, legitimate purpose.
