My Kid's Club 48th Annual Selma Railroad Run 5K

My Kid's Club's 48th Annual Selma Railroad Run 5K is Saturday, September 14th, 2024 at 8:30am. This 5K road course is a flat and fast USATF certified course.

The 5K registration fee is $25 per person as an early bird deal until 8/14/24. Fee is $35 after 8/14/24. An awesome short-sleeve Railroad Run race t-shirt is included FREE with registration, but we can only guarantee a size for those registered before 8/31/24. All proceeds support My Kid's Club's daily operations.

All participants have the option to be timed with a race bib, but recreational non-timed participants are very welcome and will have a great time. Only timed participants will receive an official record of their finish time. DOGS ARE WELCOME - must be kept on a leash at all times. And don't forget about the Caboose Run: at approx. 8:45am we will host a 1/2 Mile Kids Caboose Run from the starting line just after the registered runners take off - no need to register for that particular event. 

Awards will be given to the top runners in age and gender categories, plus overall male and female winners. Categories are ages 6-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+. 

More information about shirt and race packet pickup will be sent before the race. We are offering t-shirt shipping for out of town participants, but cannot guarantee those participants will receive their shirt before race weekend.

What is My Kid's Club? My Kid's Club (MKC) breaks down barriers faced by low-resource Johnston County youth in building skills for a successful future. In operation since 2006, we work with 150 students ages 6-16 in Selma and Smithfield who are living in challenging circumstances. It’s our goal to counteract the effects of poverty and lack of resources to improve student achievement and career readiness. We deliver daily afterschool and summer camp programming designed to teach the skills and attitudes our students need to grow academically and emotionally to succeed as adults.
