Milestone for Trail Troupe

Unlocked on 10/14/2020!

Congratulations! Your team has reached Mile 14 of your virtual journey –  Fort Custer National Cemetery, Fort Custer Recreation Area

In the small town of Augusta, you join with the North Country Trail (NCT). The North Country National Scenic Trail is the longest in the National Trails System, stretching 4,600 miles across eight states from Vermont to North Dakota. The section ahead of you will cover nearly 1,000 miles from Fort Custer National Cemetery to the Mackinac Bridge. https://northcountrytrail.org/the-trail/explore-the-trail/

After spending some time walking through the wooded trails through the Fort Custer National Cemetery and possibly exploring the many hiking trails, paddling opportunities, and mountain bike trails of the adjacent Fort Custer State Recreation Area, you head North to embark on your first 100 miles of trail walking in order to reach Michigan State University’s W.K. Kellogg Biological Station.
