Running Wild in Giant Forest

100-miles: Ed by Ned Footprint
Not unlocked yet!

Milestone for Friends of the Forest

This team hasn’t reached this milestone yet.

You did it, 100-miles! How does it feel? We cannot begin to describe how proud of you we are, not to mention how inspired! It has been our absolute privilege to follow you along your journey. Let’s continue to continue to celebrate your success by posting a picture of your 100-mile mark! Don’t forget to tag us @sequoiaparksconservancy and use the hashtag #runningwild!

So, we have a feeling that you have spent at least a few miles looking down at your feet over the last 100-miles. So in honor of that, we want to celebrate your feet by introducing you to the Ed by Ned Footprint. Did you know that there are TWO sequoia “footprints” in Giant Forest? One footprint is found near the General Sherman Tree and the second is on the Big Trees Trail near Round Meadow.

The sequoia tree footprints help you to visualize just how BIG the bases of sequoia trees are. The footprints are essentially an outline of the base of a certain tree.  The Ed by Ned and shows you the massive footprint of two sequoia trees that have been joined together at the base – the twin trees Ed and Ned.

As you contemplate just how far you have traveled, we challenge you with this question: “just how far do you think your feet can take you?”

We believe in you!

P.S. from here on out, you will only be getting badges every 25-miles.
