Mile 222 - Staunton/Mrs. Rowe's
At exit 222 we reach Staunton (pronounced STAN-tun) . Sure Staunton is known for being the birthplace of Woodrow Wilson, the 28th U.S. president, and as the home of Mary Baldwin University, and the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind, but what you really need to know about Staunton is Mrs. Rowe's. Just off the interstate is a down-home restaurant that serves up home-style cooking with a smile. And when dinner's done, it's time for pie. I mean lots of pie: Apple, Peach, Cherry, Blueberry, Strawberry Rhubarb, Meringue, Custard, Blackberry, Pecan, and the list goes on. Stop in for a good meal, but don't leave without the pie!
