You and your wagon team have made it to a favorite resting spot on the Oregon Trail, Independence Rock. You, along with many other pioneers, will mark you name on the rock, giving it the nickname, "the great register of the desert."
Now is the best time to rest up before your long journey continues. Since you passed Sweetwater River it's a good time to check your water supplies and make sure they are fresh. Folks on the trail have been known to get sick from dysentery!
