I registered for Run for Lives 2020 before it changed to a virtual race.  Now what?

First, thank you for your willingness to be part of Run for Lives 2020!  We appreciate you signing up and for helping us make a difference in our community. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly altered many aspects of everyday life, including preventing us from holding an in-person 5K obstacle course race as originally intended, we hope you will still join us for our virtual race on Saturday, June 6.

 

 

PLEASE NOTE:  The deadline for previous registrants to fill out the Google Form emailed to them was Friday, May 15.  Full refunds have been issued to participants who chose to withdraw from the virtual race.  Previous registrants who did not fill out this form have been issued a partial refund to reflect the reduced registration fee but will no longer be able to request a full refund.  Thank you for supporting Run for Lives 2020!

 

 

All original participants received the following information in an email on Friday, April 24:

As a registered participant prior to these changes to the race structure and the reduced registration fee of $15, the following options are available to you:

 

> TRANSITION REGISTRATION TO THE VIRTUAL RACE

If you want to remain registered to participate in the virtual race, simply select that option in the Google Form and we will process the transfer for you.  No new registration required!  You will also have the option to decide whether to donate the difference of your registration fee (either $5 or $10, depending on whether you signed up for early or normal registration) to the race to benefit Children's-Wisconsin or to receive a partial refund to reflect the reduced price.

 

> WITHDRAW REGISTRATION FROM THE VIRTUAL RACE

We'll be sorry to see you go, but we understand if you'd rather not participate in the virtual race as well.  If you select this option in the Google Form, you will be presented with options to resolve your team registration (if you're currently signed up with a team) and asked about your registration fee.  You will be able to decide whether to donate the entirety of the registration fee (either $20 or $25, depending on whether your signed up for early or normal registration) to benefit Children's-Wisconsin or to receive a full refund of the fee.

 

 

ITEMS TO NOTE:

  • Please fill out this form as promptly as possible so we have enough time to resolve issues transferring or withdrawing your registration!
  • Even if you signed up multiple participants under the same email address (i.e. family members, etc.), each previous RFL 2020 registrant must fill out the Google Form to indicate a change in their participant status.
  • Under the new virtual structure, our team capacity has been relaxed to allow 2-5 participants (was previously 3 or 4).  Consider recruiting friends or family members to join your team for the chance to win a joint prize for best average race times, most creative route, and the best theme/ team apparel!  (Also note that you can now participate on your own as well if you don't want to be eligible for the joint prizes.)
  • Any previously-registered participants who do not fill out the Google Form by Friday, May 15 will be considered as registrants for the virtual race automatically.  They will be included in our T-shirt order to be picked up before race day, and therefore will no longer be eligible for a refund.  All other refunds (as requested by previous participants through the Google Form) will be processed at this time as well.
