Petal to the Metal 5K Run/Walk

Join us at scenic Lee State Park for the 2nd Annual Petal to the Metal 5k run/walk sponsored by Nucor Steel-SC and Vulcraft-SC, both divisions of Nucor Corporation. This course is mostly flat with hard packed dirt and a little asphalt.  All proceeds benefit Lee State Park, our closest State Park. Originally built in the 1930's, Lee State Park is a gateway to Lynches River, a designated state scenic river. The park encompasses 2,838 acres of diverse habitat that includes a vast hardwood floodplain forest, numerous artesian springs, a millpond and sand hills. Nucor is the Nation's largest recycler and is committed to being cultural and environmental stewards in the communities where we live and work.
There will be food and drinks post-race and awards for all age groups. Bring
the family and pets and enjoy a fun filled day!
