Run or walk the HOPE Lope 5k, our fourth annual fundraiser benefiting the horses of H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue! This one's another hybrid event so you can enjoy a run through the woods with us at beautiful Mullet Hall or participate anywhere and at any pace you choose. Whether you walk around your neighborhood, run through the park, or jog on a treadmill, with the virtual option it’s up to you.
This is a fun run with no timer. We encourage families to participate, but be mindful that the trail at Mullet Park is not paved and can be bumpy or wet in places. Canine friends are welcome! Stay to enjoy a bite from The Biscuit Shed after your run!
Runners will be able to pick up their race shirts during registration from 8:00 - 9:00 AM the morning of the race. Virtual runners that want their shirts shipped to them should select the shipping option during registration (we ask a $10 shipping fee to help us keep our costs down and ensure more money goes to the horses). Race start is at 9:00 AM.
This year's shirt design was donated by Jerry of Advyon! It features Peaches, one of three donkeys that had been living in a trash-filled round pen before she was taken into protective custody by animal control (sadly the other two donkeys did not survive). Peaches arrived at the rescue two years ago severely malnourished and dehydrated, but over her time at H.O.P.E. Acres she has blossomed into a beautiful, healthy little donkey. By participating in the HOPE Lope, you're helping to give horses and donkeys like Peaches the safe haven they desperately need.
We are a completely volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Berkeley County, SC that rescues, rehabilitates, and provides sanctuary for neglected and abused horses from across the state. We believe that all horses deserve peaceful lives free from fear and neglect. All proceeds from the HOPE Lope 5k will be used to care for and provide life-saving veterinary treatments to horses that are sick, starving, and in need of a good home. Thank you for joining us as we give these beautiful animals a second chance at a happy life!
