Description

The first annual Memorial Day Mile is in alignment with a national movement afoot - to Bring Back the Mile - America's distance (1-2). The event also acknowledges our fallen service members on Memorial Day for their sacrifice in protecting the United States.

The race course is flat and is in the process of being USATF/RRCA certified. The race will begin in groups based on runners' estimated finish times. There will be a group for all speeds, and timing mats for start and finish.

Packet pick up

Will be held in the parking lot of the Kroc Center along S. Hudson Street on Sunday afternoon, May 26, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Also held on race day from 6:00 AM to 7:15 AM in the starting area. Local participants are encouraged to pick up their packet on Sunday.

R = Restrooms (portable and in the Kroc Center, the latter available after the race at 8:00 AM when it opens.

S / F = start finish of race

Start in the Kroc Center overflow parking lot (located along S. Hudson Street). Then go east on the Swamp Rabbit Trail (SRT) and turn around on Reedy View Drive near Linky Stone Park (in between the second and third manhole covers). Return on SRT and finish in the Kroc Center parking lot.

Group starts

The race will start in groups beginning at 7:30 according to your estimated finish time, 5-10 runners at-a-time, and 15 seconds or so between group starts. Timing is chip based for start and finish.
