Resolution Run

3-6-12 Hour Ultra - December 28th 

Season's Greetings! Welcome to this years annual Resolution Run and end of year SCUM Bag New Year Bash! We welcome all to this years festival of races to celebrate the beginning of a new year and to say good riddance to the current one! Resolution Run Ultra is a timed race of 3, 6, and 12 hours on a 1.5 Mile loop. All races will end at the same time promptly at 7pm. The race will be supported with one Aid Station but will be Self Timed and Recorded. We ask that you bring a "unique" cup/mug that you will use to place rocks in as you complete your 1 Mile laps around the park.

The Basics 

  • 12 Hour Event starts at 7am
  • 6 Hour Event starts at 1pm
  • 3 Hour Events starts at 4pm

Course Description

  • The course is a 1.5 mile loop around the campus of Southside High School. The terrain is 95% pavement/sidewalk and a small section of grass to connect two roads. The loop has a couple of gradual climbs but will be closed to traffic and very wide running paths making it easy to pass if needed. As a reminder you will be running your event coinciding with 2 other events and various runners. Please be courteous when passing and follow all the directional arrows to maintain on the designated course.

Runner Packet

Upstate Ultra will always try to provide quality giveaway items for our runner to commemorate their experience of the race and the course. Various items will be available for selection but if you would like to purchase one specific for the event please use our online store front through the checkout in registration. Various items include tri-blend shirts, socks, hats, stocking caps, stickers, magnets, and race buffs!


This is a self timed event so we ask that you bring a UNIQUE mug/cup to place a small stone in every lap. At the end of the event we will have your name through our registration file that you can place how many laps you completed. There are plenty of parking spaces available near the start/stop loop and ample space to set up a personal pop up tent, aid stop if you wish along the course.

Course Markings

The course will have a series of directional arrows (both yellow and green) that will be placed  at various intersections. Please follow all directional arrows to stay on course. In the event that you make a wrong turn please backtrack to your original spot of confusion. Cutting the course (even if unintentionally will lead to a disqualification)

Aid Stations

There are 1 aid station on course during the 1.5 mile loop. The Aid station will include such items: salt, crackers, cookies, pickles, oranges, water , tailwind, and soda. We ask that EVERYONE bring a leftover dish from the holidays. If you want to bring something special just for us that would be awesome too! Items like brownies, crackers, bacon, chips, pickles, candy, cookies, etc! This is a cupless event as runners are required to have their own hydration carrying bottles or packs. 

What to Bring

  • Pop Up Tent (possible rain)
  • Head Lamp (Mandatory during dark hours AM and PM)
  • Personal Table (for aid supplies and gear - there will be plenty of space for everyone near the start/finish line
  • Aid Station food donation (leftover from the holidays preferably) 

Point Series

The point series automatically places you in our 9 event competition. The “Get Dirty” series takes a runners top 5 results of the calendar year and places points according to their overall and age group places. At the end of the calendar year we will host an annual party that all runners are welcome to join as we announce our top 3 overall and age group winners for each division and gender!

Entry Referral

Participants who register for this event who refer their friends and running buddies to join the event will receive $5 for every participant that also registers for the event. Please use your personal referral link that will be included in your confirmation email after you register for the event. You can either share this link on your social media page or through a personal email to receive the promotional refund! 

Hotel Accommodations

Upstate Ultra is partnering with Hilton of Downtown Greenville to offer discounts to all of our race participants on race weekends. We would like to send them a big thank you for working with our runners in hosting them in their beautiful home away from home in lovely downtown Greenville. 

Cancellation Policy / Deferral 

We will give a 48 hour advanced notice of cancellation. In the event of a cancellation you will be given the option to defer your registration to next year with a 2 week window for deferral after the next years event has been scheduled and runners have been notified via email. We plan ahead by purchasing insurance, food, bibs, patches, awards, shirts, and facility rentals. We will go ahead and donate your entry to our park system. Thank you
