25th Annual McElveen Race For The ARK

Registration OPENS on May 1, 2024 for the 25th Annual McElveen Race for The ARK. The race is set for Saturday, August 24 in Downtown Summerville. The ARK provides comprehensive support services to families living with Alzheimer’s or related dementia.

This race includes a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run – both races begin and end at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue in Summerville. The USATF-certified course winds through historic downtown Summerville. The 5K begins at 7:45 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run kicks off at 8:45 a.m.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female winners as well as in several age groups. Plus, $100 will awarded to the first male and female to break the course records (15:40 male and 17:51 female).

Through Aug. 22, registration is $35 with T-shirt for the 5K run/walk and $25 for without T-shirt and $10 for the 1-mile fun run or $30 for a family of four (without T-shirts).

Registration and packet pickup will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23 at The ARK House and from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. on site race day. During packet pickup and on race day, registration for the 5K is $40. For the 1-mile fun run, it’s $15 or $35 for a family of four (without T-shirts).

Businesses can create teams of five or more as part of the Corporate Challenge. The winning team (combined best times) receives a hand-crafted traveling trophy to display at its business or organization for one year. Cost is $500.

Corporate Challenge 2024
● Enter one 5-member team in The ARK's 5K Run/Walk. This is a great event to build team unity and have fun. (Additional team members can be added for an additional cost)
● The winning team (combined best times) will receive a hand-crafted traveling trophy to display at their business or organization for one year. Each team member is also eligible for individual awards.
● The race/walk starts and ends at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue in Summerville.
● There are three water stations and the course is certified (SC23001BW). This is a RAIN or SHINE event.

Requirements $500 per team (contact The ARK for promo code)
● Your corporate logo must be submitted electronically (jpg or pdf) at the time of your entry, black and white logos only. Please email the logo to: info@TheARKofSC.org
● Your corporation or organization will receive 5 entries in the 5K Run
● Your company/organization's logo will appear on the back of the official race T-shirt
● Opportunity to provide promotional items in runners’ bags. Items due by August 15th.
● Your company/organization's name will appear on a special Corporate Challenge board to be displayed at the event
● Your company/organization's name will appear in the post-race advertisements and on The ARK's website
