Q: What does my registration fee include?
Your registration fee includes our 2024 Turkey Trot swag, bib, a fully supported 5K race, post-race snacks, and an awards ceremony.
Q: Who does the Turkey Trot support?
By supporting the Sewickley Turkey Trot, you impact the lives of local elderly individuals who utilize the Y program Faith in Action The program is a free community outreach program of the Sewickley YMCA, which provides the elderly in our service communities with volunteer drivers to help them remain independent and a vital part of their community by providing rides to doctor appointments and medical treatments Faith in Action also provides information and referrals for additional life-sustaining services in the community.
Q: If I miss the packet pickup, can I pick it up on the day of the race?
You can pick up your race packet on Thanksgiving morning between 7 and 8 a.m., though we strongly recommend you pick it up on Wednesday to avoid race morning crowds.
Q: Can I register on Thanksgiving morning?
Yes, race day registration is available. If you choose race day registration, plan additional time to ensure you will not miss the race start.
Q: What is the schedule for the day and race start times?
- 7 a.m. day-of registration and packet pickup opens
- 8:30 a.m. timed 5k begins
- 9:20 a.m. award ceremony
Please arrive one hour before the Turkey Trot to secure parking and reach the start line.

Head War Memorial Park, begin stretching, enjoy the music and check out our sponsors while you wait for your event to start.

Q: How will I be timed?
Your bib has a disposable timing chip attached. To officially be timed, you must wear the bib pinned to your clothing on your front, visible to the timer—not under layers of clothing.
Q: What do I do after the race?
Grab some water and a snack, check out your results on your phone, pick up your award if you placed in your age group, and celebrate the start of your Thanksgiving day with us!
Q: Who will receive awards?
Awards will be given for the following:
The top three male and female winners in each age group listed below, as well as the overall race and male and female winners, will receive Turkey Trot medals.
12 and under, 13 - 15 years old, 16 -19 years old, 20 - 29 years old, 30 - 39 years old, 40 - 49 years old, 50 - 59 years old, 60 - 69 years old, 70 and over
Q: Will there be a bag drop?
Due to security issues, we do not offer bag drops for participants; please leave all valuables at home.
Q: Will the race be canceled due to rain or snow?
The Sewickley Turkey Trot is a “rain, snow, or shine” event.
