All participants will receive a medal, and you have the option to take part in the "Let Go and Affirmation" activity, or simply enjoy the run—it's entirely up to you. We believe this is a fun and positive way to kick off 2025, setting the tone for a great year ahead!
How it Works:
Let Go Before You Go: Before the run, write down anything you want to release—your grievances, frustrations, or things weighing you down. Drop them into our burn containers or "goodbye" containers, leaving the negative energy behind.
Run Free: Take off on a scenic race, clearing your mind and body as you move forward, step by step.
Affirmations Await: Cross the finish line and head to our New Year Mantra Board, where you'll collect a positive affirmation to inspire your journey ahead. Start the new year with fresh energy, purpose, and gratitude!
This race isn’t just about physical fitness—it's a chance to embrace emotional wellness and set a positive tone for the year ahead.

About Our Courses: Our courses are open, which means you'll be sharing the path with other runners, walkers, and beachgoers. Safety is our top priority, so please stay on the pedestrian side of the beach path. The courses are well-marked, with water stations and restrooms available along the way.

Last year, we were overwhelmed with emotion as we read and burned the notes you wrote — your grief, heartbreaks, and goodbyes. What moved us most was realizing that each and every person standing beside you carried one of the same burdens. The person next to them did too. And the next.
This year, we’re honoring that shared humanity. 💛
✨ You are invited to write down what you’re ready to release at the event — or bring your own list from home.
✨ You may add your grievance to the community board to remind others they are not alone, or place it privately in the Goodbye Box for release.
✨ Or, if you simply feel called to show up and run — that’s perfect too.
No matter what you choose, every written thought will be ceremonially turned to ashes after the event — a symbolic return to the earth and a fresh start for you.
At the finish line, choose a mantra from our Mantra Tree 🌳 — a message meant just for you, to carry forward into your next chapter.

From Start Line to Finish Vibes
Our courses are open-pathway routes — meaning they’re held on pedestrian-friendly trails like beach paths, park loops, and river trails. They’re car-free, safe, and full of good energy. Whether you're racing for a PR or strolling in costume, you'll be on a scenic route with no traffic to worry about.
👟 Because these are shared public spaces, you may pass by other walkers, joggers, or casual strollers who didn’t sign up — but that’s part of the CaliFlow charm. Just stay aware and respectful of those around you.
🎧 Pro tip: Save the Metallica for your post-race drive. Please keep the volume low enough to hear voices and instructions around you.
