Description
The 2nd Annual "Swim of Legends" will be held on August 30th, 2026. Finish the summer with an open water ultra distance swim in the clear waters of iconic Geneva Lake! This is a US Masters certified swim! A USMS membership is required, an additional $20 one day fee is required if you are not a USMS member. No additional fee for USMS members. This event provides a secure, well-supported environment for experienced swimmers. The swim will be about 11 kilometers (7 miles). Each swimmer will be required to use a visibility float, we will have small ones to minimize drag that can be used for the race. Hydration and Nutrition stops will be provided at three locations along the course. Water temperatures are expected to be around 78 degrees. Wetsuits will not be allowed unless water temperatures are significantly cooler than the expected 78 degrees.
Registration Includes: Swim cap, lightweight hoodie w/logo, awards (age groups and overall), lunch voucher and timed results.

Course
We will start and finish from Big Foot Beach State Park. The course will be a clockwise loop of the East end of Geneva Lake starting at 6:15 AM on Sunday August 30th. The swim will take place between the no-wake buoys and shore, except for when the course goes across the narrowest part of the lake. At this point, volunteer kayakers will escort swimmers. Private kayakers are allowed if you want to bring your own, but they will be required to attend the safety briefing and will be required to follow the event rules.
Swim Requirements
To qualify, you must provide the results of a 5 km or longer race result with a time faster than 2 hours (5 km), respectively in the last two years (pool or open water). Other documented races over 5 km, like ultra-distances may be used as your reference also.
Awards
Awards will be presented to the top overall finishers (male and female).

Kayakers and paddleboarders are especially welcome (own equipment, a bonus)
Help distribute race packets, support check-in and answer basic questions
Hand out finishing metals
Monitor and assist swimmers at the finish of race

Sing the National Anthem

Packet Pickup required by 5:30 am.
Swim starts at 6:15 am.

Refunds are not permitted for any reason.
The event will be held unless severe weather occurs. In the event of severe weather, the race director may delay or cancel the event. If the event is canceled, there will be no refunds.
