2021 Brentwood Special Kids Triathlon

The 2021 Brentwood Special Kids Triathlon is hosted by BEAT (Brentwood Endurance Athletic Team).  This event is an official USAT-sanctioned event.  Therefore, all youth participants will be asked to pay $10 for a yearly USAT membership.

This event will follow the same format as the Tri My Best Triathlon and is dedicated to children with disabilities and their buddies. The buddy program pairs children with and without a disability to complete a race together as a team, using modifications if necessary. By working as a team, each child learns that winning is not at the end of the race, but in the journey getting there together. Buddy teams are accompanied by an adult buddy throughout the race. (children participants must be between the ages of 5-18)

SWIM (50 meters): Children complete the swim by swimming alongside their buddy, by being pulled in a raft by their buddy or swimming with a noodle or kickboard.
BIKE (1.1 OR 0.75 mile): They complete the bike portion on an adaptive bike or pedaling a standard bike alongside their buddy.
RUN (0.4 mile): To complete the run portion, children can walk or run independently, with assistance from their buddy, using a walker or gait trainer, or be pushed in a wheelchair or jogging stroller.
