Whisker Walk 5K 2024

Come and join us for our 3rd Annual Whisker Walk 5K 2024 at the Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet on May 25th, 2024! All proceeds benefit True Rescue and the over 350 cats/kittens we have currently under our care. We house our cats/kittens in a 7,000 sq foot facility in a cage-free facility with 15 different rooms to house every age, size and personality. We take in cats/kittens that would otherwise die from their circumstances, and we do our best to take in all difficult medical cases that are presented to us from cats that have been neglected, abused or homeless.

This year, we are adding a very special contest!  It's our First annual BISCUIT-MAKING CONTEST! In honor of cats all over the world who love making biscuits, and look so cute doing it, we are having a real biscuit-making contest, where you can enter your best biscuit recipe for a fee of only $25.  3 judges will be eating and judging the biscuits during the race, and a winner will be announced after the race is over.  Browse our vendor booths, before and after the 5K walk, and then join us afterwards at our shelter to take a tour, meet our staff, visit with our in-house kitties, and possibly adopt! We are using this event to raise awareness towards the growing needs of the cats/kittens in our county and all surrounding counties, and to help fund our medical clinic to purchase supplies and equipment. We must, as a community, do more for these creatures, and we must provide more resources to help. True Rescue is growing fast, and we can't do it without fundraisers such as these, bringing community and cat lovers together in unity for this great cause.

We are proud to announce that our emcee for the event is our favorite news reporter, Nick Beres, with News Channel 5. We would love to encourage everybody that walks to bring out your crazy cat lady/guy side!  Wear you most outrageous outfits, dress up like a cat even!  If you love cats, you don't want to miss out!  Oh, and we love our dogs too, so dogs are allowed to run with you during the race, as long as they are leashed and that you clean up after them.  

With registration, you will receive your very own Whisker Walk T-shirt and a cat ear headband! Please note that the registration deadline to receive a t-shirt is May 15th, 2024.  Let's get this crazy cat walk started!
