Description
Join us for the Heroes' Movement 5K, an exciting run through the scenic Centennial Park in Nashville! Whether you're looking to run the full 5K solo or form a three-person relay team, this event is perfect for all fitness levels.
Why Join?
Greek-Themed Fun – Inspired by the iconic Parthenon, we encourage runners to dress in their best Greek-inspired costumes for a chance to win prizes in our costume contest.
5K & Relay Options – Take on the full 5K or team up with two friends for a relay race, where each runner completes a leg of the course.
Support Veterans – All proceeds go toward Heroes' Movement, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the physical and mental well-being of veterans through fitness and movement-based programs.
Heroes' Movement is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that strengthens Veterans' physical and mental well-being through movement-based workouts and athletics.
We accomplish this goal by partnering with gyms nationwide to provide the training. The gym doesn't charge the Veterans; it promotes that Veterans train for free, and we reimburse the gyms for the sessions they train.
Every gym we partner with follows the post-traumatic stress (PTS) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) training guidelines to ensure our Veterans are taken care of. Our program is available to any aged Veteran from any of the branches.
Goals of the program:
1. To bridge the gap between physical therapy and feeling strong again.
2. To create a continued sense of community for our Veterans so they can reinforce their strengths together.
3. To reduce dependency on prescription drugs.
4. To reduce suicide risk.
