Run Like a Girl - Be Strong

Be Strong race is this first race in the Run Like a Girl virtual race series to raise money for the Girls on the Run foundation in Northeast Tennessee. The money raised helps fund tuitions and supplies for young girls to gather as a community to train and learn the importance of being active and healthy. What is a "virtual race"?
A virtual race is a sporting event where everyone sets their own course and runs or walks their own race wherever they happen to be on the planet. You sign up online and run your race from May 1st, 2013 through May 13th, 2013 (the day after Mother's Day).

The Goods: Each person who registers will recieve one piece of the series medals.  Each piece will be 2 1/4 inches and 1/4" thick.  It will be a nice hunk of medal.  When you run all the races in the series, your medals will create a nice circle to signify unity for all girls... a circle of strength and confidence!

How it works...
1) Register for this event at https://runsignup.com/RunLikeaGirlBeStrong.
2) Run or walk any distance from 5k and up to a half marathon before May 13th, 2013.
3) You will receive a medal approximately 2 weeks after the event. (Medals may be mailed out beforehand) 

**NO PROOF OF RUN REQUIRED - just have fun! :)**

It's just that simple! So, what are you waiting for? Get in touch with your friends and family and invite them to join you to support these amazing girls!  I'd love to see the looks on a girls face when she realizes people from all over the world ran so she could learn about health!

 **Every registrant will recieve a bib to print and run with for their race.  You are welcome to run this event at any time between May 1st - May 13th, even at a local race.  Once you run the race, post your photo to our facebook page and you will be eligible for a drawing on May 20th via my blog at The Rushing Herd!**
