Camp is in session!

Come explore the trails of Camp Wesley Woods located in Townsend beneath the foothills parkway.  Race will start on Gravel service roads and will enter into the perimeter trail system consisting of double and some single track trail terrain. Hilly terrain will be present!  This event will feature a 6-mile race as well as a 3-mile hike option for those who choose to not run but still support the camp by participating in an adventure!  The 6-mile run course will be a "figure-8" fashion with turn around point located at the summit of the GLORIOUS Sunset point trail spur before returning to back and heading into the loop and then off to the finish. Water/ aid station will be available at the gravel road/ trail intersection along the main road of camp (mile 2 & mile 5).

Hiking and History Guide

Hike will be a single loop without the spur extension.   For Hikers interested in hiking the trail, you may choose to hike at your own pace, or, with two local trail hiking experts in the area; Charles Maynard, a master storyteller and smokey mountain historian, along with Bob Hayes, local trail expert.   Both will lead hiking groups for those who wish to journey together at a leisure pace and learn more in depth about the ecology of the trail along the way.  Please indicate which option you would like during sign-up.  Water/ aid station will be available at the gravel road/ trail intersection along the main road of camp (mile 2).

Both events will begin at in front of the Nickel lodge building on the gravel road heading north east.  Both events will follow the Gravel road before this merges into a narrower service road before bearing left onto Bob Hayes Trl- this trail will follow the properties perimeter (approx. 1.7mi) before returning to the main gravel road that bisects the camp.  Hikers will take the gravel road back to the start to conclude their 3-mile hike.  6-mile runners will cross over the main gravel road of the camp with a right turn onto Eastridge Trl near the Tipton Lodge building.  In less than half a mile runners will turn Right again onto Sunset point trail following this spur uphill to the Magnificent overlook before turning back down and returning with a Right onto Eastridge Trl.  Eastridge Trl will end into Blueberry Trl where runners will take a Left and follow Blueberry back to the Gravel Road before heading back to the finish in front of Nickel Lodge where they started from.

First 80 registered Runners and Hikers who sign up will be guaranteed a Camp logo Winter Race cap!

Camp store will be open where previous Camp Wesley Woods T-shirts can be purchased for $6, proceeds all go directly to benefiting the camp!
