HomeRun for the Homeless goes Virtual!

Due to the recent spike in the COVID-19 cases in our community and after continuing to monitor the situation— the Opportunity Center for the Homeless is thrilled to announce that for the first time, it will host the 7th annual HomeRun for the Homeless - 5K Run/Fun Walk and Kid's Dash as a Virtual event to support the individuals facing homelessness in El Paso.
The safety of our participants, sponsors, and volunteers is our top priority, and although we would have loved to bring you our traditional race at Southwest University Park, the current health crisis didn’t allow us to deliver the fun event you love in a safe way.
Runners and walkers will have all day Saturday, August 1st to participate. Even if you don’t live in El Paso, you can still be part of the fun and support our mission. This event is made possible by Marathon Petroleum, as well as other dedicated sponsors, and supporters like you!

We invite you to register and go out and fulfill your fitness goals, run or walk at your pace, in your neighborhoods, permitted trails, parks, or even on treadmills, and support our mission.

Helping and protecting people is at the heart of our mission and all proceeds from the 7th annual Virtual HomeRun for the Homeless - 5K Run/Fun Walk and Kid’s Dash will directly benefit the individuals we serve in our shelters located in downtown El Paso. The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted many in our community, and the services we offer to people facing homelessness are now more crucial than ever.

All the event proceeds help cover the cost of meals and other services we provide to them throughout the year and also and the additional funds needed to provide support to individuals impacted by the coronavirus.
