17th Annual Jameson 5K at Southwestern

This event includes a Chip Timed 5-K Run, as well as a 5-K Walk and a 1-Mile Mosey through the campus of Southwestern University. The 5-K Run and Walk course is along the campus sidewalks and Georgetown city streets.  There are a few hills to make this a great course.
 
All proceeds benefit the Jaysn Jameson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwestern University.
 
Awards:
Overall male and female (open and masters) will receive a prize and a trophy.
Top three finishers in each age division will receive a trophy. (Under 13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over)
Random drawing for door prizes for participants in attendance. (Last year over $10000 in door prizes were given away.)
 
All entrants will receive a t-shirt (unless they have requested not to receive a t-shirt) and a goody bag. (Deadline for t-shirt guarantee is October 25)

Friday, November 3, 2017 at Mundy Hall on the campus of Southwestern University (start/finish line), Georgetown, TX 10:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.
Saturday, November 4, 2017 - Race Site (Mundy Hall, Southwestern University) 6:30 - 7:45 A.M.
 
History:
Since 2001, the Jameson 5-K at Southwestern has donated more than $118472 to the Jaysn Jameson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwestern. This scholarship was created in memory of Jaysn Jameson, 1990 Graduate, who passed away in 1991 in a scuba diving accident. The scholarship is given to a student at Southwestern University that is a Science major, has financial need and is in good standing with the University. These are the same criteria that Jaysn and his sister Kenda had when they attended Southwestern University.
