Description

About:

The 20th Annual Run For The Children 10K/5K/1K Fun Run benefiting Virginia's House-Dr. Goodall's House will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the downtown Square in Graham, Texas.  The 10K and 5K courses will take you through the heart of the downtown Square past the old Courthouse arch and around town. The 1K Fun Run course will circle around the inside of the Courthouse Square.

The Run takes place in April to coincide with Child Abuse Awareness Month. Proceeds go to Virginia’s House-Dr. Goodall’s House, which serves children and families who are victims of abuse. Virginia’s House provides service to Young, Stephens, and Throckmorton Counties.

Benefitting Virginia’s House:

Virginia’s House – A Family Resource Center was established in 1992, under the name of the Young County Family Resource Center, and is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to meeting the needs of abused, neglected, and traumatized children. The name was changed to Virginia's House In 2007. In 2009, Dr. Goodall's House, a satellite office in Breckenridge, was opened to better serve Stephens County.

The Center’s primary purpose is to help children and their families who suffer from all types of abuse, as well as help children in situations of risk. The Center serves as a Referral Agency for the local communities and houses several different programs:  CAC (Children’s Advocacy Center), CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), Program, Crime Victim’s Assistance Program, and Mentor Programs in partnership with Graham ISD, Olney ISD, Newcastle ISD, and Breckenridge ISD.  Virginia’s House serves Young, Stephens, and Throckmorton Counties. The organization is a member of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc., National Children’s Alliance and Texas CASA. The center is funded by grants from Children’s Advocacy Center’s of Texas, Inc., Victims of Crime Act, National Children’s Alliance and Texas CASA. Private donations are tax deductible and deeply appreciated.

One Time, Monthly or Yearly Donation Option:

Many organizations in your county and surrounding counties continue the fight against child
abuse long after April ends. If you feel lead, consider giving financially.  Your generosity makes a difference in the lives of children and families in your community.
