What is the "Fallen Heroes" Bike Race and 5k?

Thank you for considering participating in this year’s Highland Village Police Department’s 8th Annual Fallen Heroes Bike Race and 5K Run, which raises money for the Fallen Officers Fund.

Be Involved in a Great Cause!

The Annual Fallen Heroes Bike Race and 5K Run has grown significantly every year it has been held. Last year over $22,000.00 was raised for the fund, and this year we are trying to get to $25,000.00 for families of Officers that have lost their life in the line of duty. Over the last seven years over $82,000.00 has been raised for the Fallen Officers Fund through this event.

Our goal is to continue growing this event and one of the best ways to do that is to have more Police teams participating.  We sincerely thank those teams that have grown with us and participated in the past, and are counting on you to continue your involvement.  If you have not participated in this fun and worthy event yet, please consider participating this year.

What Your Participation Helps to Accomplish and Why

The number of men and women who lose their lives in the line of duty is on the rise. Although the Nation has the staggering number of almost 22,000 officers who have died in the line of duty, the state of Texas holds the highest number of officers that have died, and this number grows every year. Texas leads the nation in the number of Officers that have lost their lives (1,695), with California second (1,564) and New York third (1,366). Since 2010, in the state of Texas, 73 officers have lost their lives on duty.

The Fallen Officer’s Fund is organized and run through the Texas Police Chiefs Association Fund. The TPCAF helps families that have lost a loved one in the line of duty by giving financial assistance almost immediately after an officer’s death. 100% of the money raised for this event goes directly to this foundation, and will help the next family in need of assistance after a tragedy.
