To enter the race, register online or complete the printable entry form individual or team, enclose a check, payable to the Houston Bar Foundation, and mail to the Houston Bar Association at 1111 Bagby Street, Suite FLB 200 Houston, Texas 77002.

You may also register in person at the packet pickup locations (see below) or any time before packet pickup at the offices of the Houston Bar Association between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Race packets must be picked up at the following locations and times:   

  • Thursday, February 13, 2020, noon to 7:00 p.m.
  • 810 Marston Street, Houston, TX 77019, Cullen Residence Hall
  • (near Shepherd Drive & Allen Parkway - call (713) 759-1133 for directions)
  • Parking available in the gravel lot on your left as you approach Cullen Residence Hall. Please do NOT attempt to park in front of Cullen.

Adopt a Walker

Adopt a Walker from The Center for Pursuit! Support the participation of residents from The Center for Pursuit by paying the entry fee for a resident to join the 1-Mile Walk. The cost is $25 per walker, which also includes a Fun Run t-shirt for the resident, race packet and the opportunity to win prizes. Adopt a Walker online or check the appropriate box on the individual or team entry form.


Finisher medals for 8K race and 1K kids run

Individual: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place M/F in the following age groups:
14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+; overall M/F (Open, Masters 40-49, Veterans 50+); 8K Wheelchair: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place M/F.

Team: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the following categories:
Men's Open; Women's Open; Coed; Masters (40 years and older) Men's, Women's, and Coed.

Traveling President’s Trophy: 1st Place 8K Team where 1 runner is an attorney from a law firm or corporation.

Law School Traveling Trophy: 1st Place All-Student 8K Team from the same Houston law school.

No duplication of awards (1-Mile Family Walk is noncompetitive)

The Center for Pursuit, a private, non-profit corporation, is a United Way agency dedicated to offering people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to reach their full potential and to contribute to their community. One hundred percent of your entry fee for the HBA John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run is contributed directly to The Center for Pursuit and helps support a variety of programs designed to provide education, job training, socialization, community living, and health care for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Since 1986, the Houston Bar Association has raised over $1.5 Million for The Center for Pursuit. Please join us in continuing to support this worthwhile cause by participating in the 8K race, the 1K children's run, or the 1-mile family walk.
