Participants can choose which event they would like to participate in. 1 mile run is completely paved, 5k goes on crushed granite trail for about 1.5 miles the run.
Description
The Santa’s Helper 5K & 1 Mile family fun run brings a running race to beautiful Melissa, Texas. Race will begin at the trails around the Wolf Creek Farms Lake. Runners will then be captivated as they enter country Ridge park with tranquil trails and beautiful scenery. The 5K event will benefit the North Texas Feed the Need organization which generously provides food, free of charge, to families when students are not in school and food is hardest to find.
On race day please bring one (or more) of the following items to help stock their pantry before Christmas break!
— Individually wrapped snacks (bars, chips, fruit snacks, etc)
— Peanut butter (sealed jar or tub)
— Jelly (sealed jar)
— Boxed Macaroni and Cheese
— Cash donations are accepted
North Texas Feed the Need Prospective Families
If you or someone you know has a hard time affording food, please fill out this Google Form (coming soon) so we can work with North Texas Feed the Need to provide assistance during school breaks. There has been a surplus of food and not enough families to receive it! We want to help! Let us know - if you know of a family please help by filling the form out so this great organization can get in touch with them.
