The district has canceled its annual Fun Run & Wellness Fair on March 28 as it follows the guidance of health officials amid the current outbreak of COVID-19.
“We are very disappointed that we will not be able to host this event this year, but the health and safety of our community is our top priority,” said Spring ISD Communications Officer Sylvia Wood. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding during these challenging times.”
Organizers will be making arrangements to distribute T-shirts to paid participants as soon as it becomes feasible. As the event is a major fundraiser for student scholarships, the district will continue its tradition of donating all proceeds to deserving students.
“We’re grateful to everyone who signed up in support of this worthy cause and we want everyone to know that we’re committed to hosting this event again in 2021,” Wood said.
