Description

Join us for the First Annual Warriors of Hope 5K & 1K Fun Run held in loving memory of Irene Aragon, a remarkable woman who bravely fought gastric cancer before passing away in November 2023. Though Irene is no longer with us, her family has come together to continue her mission of spreading awareness and supporting those impacted by stomach cancer.

This community event is more than just a fun run — it’s a celebration of life, a tribute to courage, and a rally for support. This event brings together runners, walkers, survivors, caregivers, and advocates to support patients and families affected by this disease. Whether you're running, walking, or cheering on loved ones, your presence helps honor Irene and all those affected by stomach cancer.

Warriors of Hope - Irene's 5K will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Meyer Park in Spring, Texas.

Event Highlights:
  • Shirts included for 5K & Virtual 5K
  • 1K Fun Run perfect for the kids - also includes shirt with registration
  • Tribute to Irene Aragon and survivor and caregiver recognition
  • Awards and acknowledgement for top fundraisers Overall Male/Female for each event

Participants will also have the opportunity to make a deeper impact by engaging in peer-to-peer fundraising, helping to amplify awareness and raise critical funds for the stomach cancer community.

Come together as Warriors of Hope — run with purpose, honor with love, and give with heart.

Honoring Irene Aragon

Irene was full of life—a true social butterfly who lit up every room she entered. She had a deep love for travel and found joy in spending time with her family and friends. Her energy was infectious, and her laughter often brought people together. She was passionate about living well, committed to staying active, and embraced a healthy lifestyle. But at just 32 years old, Irene received a diagnosis that changed everything: stage 4 gastric cancer. In the midst of her battle, Irene began researching and discovered Hope for Stomach Cancer, where she connected with inspiring individuals like Aki Smith and Camila Rowe. Their support and encouragement empowered her to advocate for herself and others facing similar journeys. Irene was more than courageous—she was strong, thoughtful, and incredibly generous. Even as she faced her own challenges, she continued to lift others up, offering hope, support, and kindness to everyone around her. She was a devoted sister, a loving wife, a proud aunt, and a cherished friend.
This 5K race is held in her honor—a tribute to a true warrior whose legacy continues to inspire.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
     - Isaiah 41:10
