The Houston Filipino Street Festival Run is dedicated to #JonandKimAgainstCancer

Kimberly Carrera Arellano has been braving and fighting cancer and we would like to ask for your support by dedicating a 1k/5k mile run for her and her husband Jonathan Casanova Arellano.

She has been fighting cancer for awhile and her husband Jon has been running 1 mile daily for the last 762 days dedicated for her.

Please join us in running the HFSF5K run and tagging #jonandkimagainstcancer to show her our love, support and please say a prayer for her and Jon during this time. #Ohana

So, who exactly are we and what do we do?

The Filipino Young Professionals of Houston, or “FYP”, is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that was founded in 2009 in Houston, TX. This organization is comprised of individuals from diverse backgrounds who are of Filipino heritage or simply, those who have an interest in the Philippines or Filipino culture.

Members of FYP stay connected with the community through networking, professional development, community involvement, team building and exposure to the Filipino culture via festivals and performances.

Originally created as an avenue to promote the Filipino culture to young professionals in Houston, FYP has now evolved to engage, connect and empower professionals from all over the world!

Fil Am Tri Club was founded in 2006 by a small group of Filipinos in NY/NJ. Since then, FAT (Fil Am Tri) has grown nationwide and global having members throughout the mainland US, Canada, Hawaii, and of course the homeland in the Philippines. Although comprised mostly of Filipinos, FAT is a non-denominational club accepting all friends and families of Filipino Americans with the mission to grow a network of Filipino triathletes worldwide building a sense of community and fellowship through the medium of endurance sports.
