What is Leap Year?

A leap year (also known as an inter-calary year) is a calendar year that contains an additional day compared to a common year. The 366th day is added to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical year or seasonal year.

Run Different

Our mission here at Run Different is simple. We aim to revolutionize the running and racing experience across America. We want to put a stop to the negative connotation typically associated with running. Running is more than a punishment! Running is more the fitness! Running is more than racing! Running is an experience and a life-style, and you don't have to be crazy to love it!

So, how do we do that?

We provide an all-encompassing event that speaks to each individual participant, regardless for their fitness level. Some people run for the medals. We got you covered! Some people run for the t-shirt. We got you covered! Some people run to win. We got you covered! Some people just want to have fun. We got you covered! Our top-of-the-line finisher medals and age group awards will leave you feeling inspired! Our unique event-themed t-shirts will become a part of your regular wardrobe. And our events will live on forever in the memories we create together for you, your friends, and your families.

Sure, you can sign up for other races and run. But why just run, when you can Run Different!?

Run for a Cause

While Run Different isn't technically a non-profit organization, all of our events do benefit local charities. The Leap Year Madness 5K will be donating a portion of our proceeds to the Greater North Texas American Red Cross

What's their Mission?

The American Red Cross North Texas Region serves a population of more than nine million people in 121 counties and is made up of six local chapters including DFW Metro East, DFW Metro West, Texas Panhandle Plains, East Texas, Northeast Texas and Texas Big Country.

Fun Fact

The “Gregorian Calendar” skipped 10 days in October of 1582 in order to make up for the extra days which had been accrued under the Julian calendar, and established a more accurate accounting for leap years to avoid the accrual of extra days in the future.
