FAQ

Registration

  • Can I switch to a different distance? Yes, you can switch your distance for $5 switch fee plus any difference in entry fee at the of your switch.  You can switch online through October 5 or in person at packet pick-up. 
    • Sign into your RunSignUp account > Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Defer Registration.  Make sure to pick Transfer EVENT not transfer race.
  • I have registered for race, but now I can't make it.  What are my options? Unfortunately, we have no refund, deferral, and transfer (to another race and/or person) policy.  This policy was stated and acknowledge during the registration process.  We do offer race insurance that must be purchased during registration. 
  • I purchased the event insurance; how do I make a claim? The event insurance is through Allianz.  Shortly after you registered you should had received an email from Allianz with information on how to make claim.  To manage your policy or file a claim, visit www.eventregistrationprotection.com.  If you have questions regarding your insurance, contact Allianz Global Assistance at 1-888-497-6987.
  • Can I make changes to my registration information? Directions to updating your registration.  
  • Can I add additional beer tickets?  During registration you can purchase additional tickets on the “Add-On” page.
  • How do I add beer tickets after I have completed my registration?  Sign into RunSignup > Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration (next to event editing) > Add-On > Edit Quantity > Continue.
  • What is included with my registration? Timing chip, one complimentary beer (additional beer tickets available for purchase), finisher item
  • Is there a registration cap? Yes, only 1,000 participants are allowed between both distances.
  • How do I check to see if I’m registered? Look up your registration here.

Race

  • Where can I pick up my bib number? Packet pick up will be held at 10th and Semmes on Saturday, October 5, beginning at 2:30 p.m. and will end when the race begins.
  • Is Walk Up Registration Available? Yes, walk up registration will be available if the race has not reached capacity.  You can register online or onsite.
  • Can someone pick up my bib number for me? Yes, but they will need a copy of your photo ID.  The copy can be presented electronically (on their phone) or a physical copy.
  • Where can I find a course map? Both course maps can be found here.
  • Is there a course time limit? There is a two-hour time limit.
  • Where can I park? Check out our website for parking.
  • Can I run with my dog? NEW this year you can sign up for the Dog Wave, for either distance, and bring your favorite canine along for some fun on the trails!

  • Do you sell merchandise? Of course, visit the Sports Backers store!
  • Who is the official Event Charity? Our official event charity is RVA MORE and their trail maintenance fund. Please consider supporting the effort to protect our urban trails. All donations will help with the costs of bridge materials and equipment for volunteer trail work in the City of Richmond.
