All race starts will now be 9am.  This reflects a later start for the marathon... from 8 to 9 due to the later time of they year for the event and the later sunrise.

Race Venue:

Pocahontas State Park 10301 State Park Rd. Chesterfield, VA 23832

The race staging area will be located about 1 1/2 miles straight into the park on State Park Rd.  Once you pass the entrance building you continue straight, following park signs to the pool parking lot/boat launch.  Start, finish and staging will be located on the large grass field adjacent to the boat launch.  All race activities will be located at the black and orange tents on the field

Parking:  The park is requiring the regular fee if you don't have a state park permit.  I believe it is currently $10 per car load.  To compensate you for this we are going to offer and each races a $10 voucher for a future event!  Alothough the park accepts cards cash is the fastest way to move past the contact station.

Packet Pickup options:
Race Day: 10/23 Saturday 730-9am (Race morning only) at the staging area on the field at Pocahontas State Park.

Your race number will have a timing chip on the back.  Please do not fold, remove the chip.  Race numbers should be attached so numerals are right side up. Your numbers should be visible during the entire event and placement on your shirt is best as this helps with tagging any photos to your result link.

Course info:

2020 offered a redesigned course. The original course was mostly fire roads throughout the park. Although beautiful, we always intended more of a trail event. With the building of some new hiking trails and a redesign of the course we feel we have a great course waiting for you. We have also tweaked a few miles from 2020 to even improve on the re-design.

The new course is a 2 loop course for the Marathon yet 1 loop for each of the 10k and 1/2 marathon adding more trail miles.  This will give you more picturesque views and a better trail race experience!  These new trails are very runnable with good footing most of the way.  This also allows us to offer better service at aid stations!

Aid stations will be approximately 3, 6, 9, 13, 16,19 and 22 miles. Due to COVID these may be manned or unmanned.

There are two indoor bathrooms available about the main parking lot.  One is located behind the soda machines (on the right side of the main lot) and the other near shelter #2 between the lot and the staging area.

Relays will run loops approximately 6.5 miles each.  This year all relay legs will begin and end at the Start/Finish area and race with the solo marathoners. Runner 1 and 3 will run loop A (Beaver Lake Loop) and runner 2 and 4 will run loop B (Findley Station, Coop and Trooper Loop)

Deferal Option:

The defer option can be found by logging on to RunSignUp.com, navigateing to Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Defer Registration.
Our plan for 2022 is to move this event back to a spring event.
