Description
Greetings to all our beloved Shelane's Run supporters,
Shelane's Run honors Shelane Gaydos, a mother of three girls who tragically ended her life while suffering severe postpartum depression. After her passing in June of 2015, friends and family established this annual event in Shelane's honor to memorialize her love and commitment to her family, community, and running. This year, the event will be held in-person on October 18th, 2025 at the Fairfax County Government Center.
Proceeds from this event support Shelane's Fund -- a program that provides financial assistance to perinatal families suffering from postpartum depression and other mental health issues during pregnancy and postpartum.
Please join us from wherever you are to help spread awareness and raise money to help mothers and families in need.

Event Details
Participate in-person or virtual!
Run, Walk or Stroll with us on October 18th wearing your Shelane's Run shirt! In-person or virtual, snap a picture of yourself or with a friend and post it to social media using the #shelanesrun hashtag to help spread awareness for Postpartum Depression and other Mood Disorders. You may also send your photos and/or videos to shelanesrun@gmail.com!
Policies
Sign up by September 30th, 2025 to guarantee your race shirt! If you registered after September 30th, we cannot guarantee that you will receive one.
This event will not be canceled or rescheduled for any reason.
PACKET PICK-UP
When: Friday, October 17, 2025, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Location: Fairfax Government Center, Fairfax, VA
Race-Day packet pick-up available Sat, October 18, 2025, 7:30 AM - 8:00 AM (Friday pick-up is strongly recommend, if possible)
*** PLEASE NOTE: if you are registering after September 30th, 2025, we cannot guarantee you an event shirt. If you register October 1st or later, event shirts and sizing will be given out on a first come/registered basis.
