Description

The Regency Mile, along with the 5 & Under 400m Express Run, has held the record for the largest timed youth road race in Richmond for 15 years!  With both in-person and virtual race options, an adult race, condensed start times, and a fall festival, this event provides a family-friendly day of racing.

The course is entirely closed to traffic and encircles Regency Square Mall.  This year, we have a kid’s mile, parent’s mile, and a 400m race for ages 5 & under.  After the race, make sure to stick around and enjoy our Fall Festival complete with candy, games, activities from our sponsors, and more!

As part of the Regency Mile, cash awards are given to area schools to help with their Physical Education programs, and each year, the competition is fierce!  Learn more here!

The Venue

Regency Square Mall is the ideal location for Regency Mile.  It is centrally located in the heart of Richmond’s West End. Regency is a mixed-use development featuring a comprehensive mix of fashion and lifestyle retailers, entertainment and dining options and the newest 320-unit apartment complex in Henrico.

Race Options

Youth & Adult Mile

Athletes will experience a fast, mostly flat course, on the perimeter of Regency Square Mall.  The 2024 race will feature condensed start times, to allow for a more spectator friendly event.

400m Express Run

For our youngest athletes, the 400m express run features an out and back featuring most of the Youth and Adult Mile course. Athletes will enjoy a finish through the infamous Live Red Foundation finish line.

Race with a Purpose

At Live Red Foundation (LRF), we race with purpose as each of our events funds the important work we are doing in Richmond's lowest-opportunity neighborhoods.

LRF is a 501c3 corporation that was founded to offer free fitness programs, which teach 8 core life skills, to youth in low-opportunity communities. These programs are funded through premier youth races which promote fitness in all communities.

Do you believe in the power of fitness to transform lives?  When you race with LRF, you join us on our mission to give this to every child.  Visit our website to learn more!
