Lake Monticello, a 3,500 acre gated community in central Virginia, features a magnificent 352-acre recreational lake and 18-hole PGA Championship golf course which = serves as the backdrop for our race. The race features a safe & humane rolling swim start, a bucolic bike ride and a well supported run course through the tree lined community of Lake Monticello. Located only 15 miles from Charlottesville, athletes and supporters will appreciate the rich history, brewery and winery tours and a virtually unlimited list of things to do in the heart of historic Virginia. The 1st weekend of May is a great time to put your fitness to the test with average air temperatures of 53-74 and average water temperatures of 65.
