The Roanoke Marine Mud Run will be entering their 25th year which offers several race options for the semi-pro runners down to the neighbor next door that has never entered a 5k race.

  • DEVIL DOG DARE OBSTACLE COURSE RACE - Challenge yourself to the area's best obstacle course race featuring over 20 obstacles and terrain challenges along the 3-5 mile course.
  • 5K MUD RUN (Individual) Race - 5K Race through scenic Greenhill Park.  Course includes terrain challenges such as hills, the river, trails, and the famous Mud Pit at the finish line..
  • EXTREME TEAM RACE - Work together in teams of 5 to take on obstacles and team-building challenges along our 5K course. Teams can be male, female or co-ed and must have 5 members.  Co-ed teams must have a minimum of 2 females.  Teams must start and finish the race together.
  • DEVIL PUP DARE KIDS RACE  Your kids will have an awesome time conquering obstacles and taking on terrain challenges over our 1 mile course designed just for kids up to 12 years of age.

The event is a non-profit officiated and hosted by the Roanoke Valley Marine Corps League, Detachment 426. It has become a historical and memorable community event with support from Roanoke County Parks and Recreation, Roanoke County Fire Department, and local Nurses Associations.  Proceeds from this event benefit Roanoke Toys for Tots Foundation and Camp Roanoke.  Each of these organizations benefits underprivileged children in the Roanoke area.

If you have yet to take the Marine Mud Run Challenge, you're missing out on the cleanest fun you'll ever have with a 5K race...It's a pretty muddy affair!
